Pre-Production 101: The Perfect Production Plan
Every great project starts with a plan…a production plan that is. When producing a LimeLite video project, production plans provide a structured outline of tasks, resources, schedules, and responsibilities. Without a clear plan in place, even the best ideas can start to feel overwhelming.

The Key Components:
A production plan may sound technical, but really, it’s a simple framework that ensures all stakeholders understand the workflow, expectations, and deliverables. Here’s what goes into one:
- Logistics – a strong production plan doesn’t just cover what needs to get done, but also the practical details of when and where. This includes: shoot date(s) and call time(s), location(s), and special notes (i.e., parking, building access, etc.)
- Contact Information – clear communication is essential, and that starts with knowing exactly who to turn to for what. This might include both subscriber representatives and LimeLite representatives.
- Objective – every project starts with a “why.” Define the goals upfront to ensure everyone is working toward the same vision.
- Schedule – the schedule is really the heart of a production plan. Think of it as the timeline that ties everything together. Below is an example that’s ideal for any standard LimeLite video shoot.
- 30 Minutes for Setup
- 60 Minutes for A-Roll
- 90 Minutes for B-Roll
